Yes, I bought a leather jacket. It was 50% off and I couldn’t help it. I love it.

We went out for a fancy dinner the night before the Boyfriend’s graduation. Also, this is the beautiful log cabin by the sea we stayed in for the weekend.

As you can probably see, we got a Christmas tree! It’s the first live Christmas tree I’ve ever had. We bought a few ornaments and also bought candy canes for it, and then later in the week I made gingerbread men ornaments. This is me on the second last day of classes.

I am so far behind on these I’m not even sure if this is the right date … Tumblr also decided to eat a bunch of my queued posts, which was charming and not at all infuriating. At any rate, this is basically what I wore all through my junior year of English honours.

I’m making a desperate play to wear all of my jackets before it gets way too cold to wear jackets without a winter coat over top. This attempt involves a lot of layers. I like this one, though - it doubled duty as being very cozy and comfortable for writing a midterm in the evening.

While this was not the best weekend personally for me, I at least was able to dress myself capably. This is a new skirt I picked up for 40% off at the Gap on Friday: I’m hoping it can become a summer staple, because as Saturday morning and afternoon indicated, I should not be wearing it out when it’s rainy, as it gets very wrinkly. Extremely wrinkly. It was oh-so-rainy all weekend, which for me is beginning to seem cruel and unusual. I would like one nice weekend, please. It is the only time I have when I am neither a) working nor b) doing long-distance chemistry, which increasingly makes me less of a person.
On Saturday, I wrote a chemistry midterm; the Boyfriend and I went for an amazing brunch, at which he had the big breakfast and I had a tofu scramble to die for; we then watched the first half of Gone with the Wind cuddled up inside.

Some days I am lazy, wear leggings as pants, a huge baggy tunic as a shirt, and then at the last minute I steal my boyfriend’s cardigan. I like it. I like it a lot. I refuse to even belt this ensemble today. Ha! Also, this is the first outfit I’ve figured out how to wear these cute striped socks in. It’s all very utilitarian and loose and sloppy, but it’s incredibly comfortable and, I think, even sexy.

A girl can’t dress up everyday. Or, to be more accurate, I can’t dress up everyday recently, because of my overwhelming fatigue and thus inability to traipse around campus in heels like I used to. I’ve recently been bemoaning my lack of shoe diversity here at university - when I’m at home in the summer, working as some sort of legal assistant/workhorse hybrid, I have so many more choices. And I always think I’ll appreciate the simplification of choice when I come to university (plus I don’t like shipping that many things from Alberta -> Nova Scotia, for various economic/obsessive compulsive reasons), but then February comes and I’ve been wearing the same three pairs of shoes for four months, and two of them have heels, which means that on days when I’m tired and my morning run took a lot out of me, I effectively have one choice of footwear - these worn-in equestrian boots.  And I love them, don’t get me wrong, but I also ogle the many wonderful shoes I see on Weardrobe everyday. I want more. (Plus, I have to resole my oxford heels again. Again. I walk on my heels, apparently.)
Anyway, the point is, I tried to make this outfit more exciting than I felt today. But really, what it says is this: “I ain’t walking around in heels today, buddy.”
